India’s Fitshield Explores Food Passport Vision with Dr. Ramesh Jain to Advance Personalized Food Intelligence.

24 September 2026

Indian food intelligence company Fitshield is exploring its contribution to the global Food Knowledge Graph through its proposed Food Passport initiative, following a meeting with Prof. Ramesh Jain, Director of the Institute for Future Health at the University of California, Irvine, and widely recognized as the “Father of Multimedia”.

The meeting, held on 22 September 2026 at IAIRO, brought together Fitshield’s Director and CEO Rahul Virani, Co-founder and CTO Jeel Borda, and Technical Lead Shivam Parmar, along with Prof. Jain and Nishant Gupta.

The discussion focused on the future of Food Personalization, the Food Knowledge Graph (FKG.in) initiative, the broader vision of a Food Atlas, and the potential role of Fitshield’s technology in building more structured and actionable food intelligence.

Building a Food Passport for the Global Food Atlas

The Food Knowledge Graph initiative aims to organize food information into an interconnected knowledge system covering recipes, ingredients, cooking characteristics, and nutrition. Its research on Indian food contributes to the broader effort to make food knowledge accessible for intelligent applications and personalized decision-making.

Fitshield envisions contributing to this ecosystem through its proposed Food Passport, a structured, dish-level information layer intended to support food intelligence and personalization.

During the meeting, Jeel Borda and Shivam Parmar shared Fitshield’s ongoing work on CORTEX, its proprietary food intelligence engine. The technology is being developed to understand food at a granular level and translate structured food information into more relevant, personalized food decisions.

The discussion explored how CORTEX could support the Food Passport concept and contribute to the wider Food Atlas vision.

India’s Contribution to Global Food Personalization

Fitshield’s broader mission is to develop personalized food infrastructure that connects food intelligence with everyday dietary decisions.

Fitshield believes that the next generation of food technology will require more than nutritional databases or static menus.

Its flagship product, BRIDGE ONE , applies this approach to restaurant menus through AI-assisted processing, nutrition-reference matching, human review and restaurant-owner validation. The resulting menu intelligence helps restaurants communicate dish information more clearly and supports informed dining decisions.

Through its proposed Food Passport, Fitshield aims to extend this approach towards a larger, interconnected food knowledge ecosystem.

A Conversation Around a Larger Food Ecosystem

The meeting with Prof. Jain and Nishant Gupta offered an opportunity to explore the alignment between Fitshield’s technology and the global Food Atlas initiative. It also opened discussions on how India-developed food intelligence could contribute to making food information more structured and personally relevant with the country’s health mission.

Rahul Virani expressed his appreciation to Prof. Jain and Nishant Gupta for the exchange of ideas and the opportunity to explore Fitshield’s potential contribution to this vision.

As Fitshield continues developing CORTEX and its Food Passport concept, the company remains focused on building from India with the ambition of making Food Personalization accessible globally.
