While much of the AI industry races to build faster, more capable tools, one India-based startup is focused on a quieter, less glamorous problem: making sure someone is accountable when those tools get something wrong.
AgileAiPro, founded by Anshul Gupta, has built AAF, the Accountable AI Framework, a governance layer that fits inside existing Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe rather than replacing them. The company’s core bet is that as AI adoption accelerates, verification and accountability will become as important as the AI tools themselves.
“Every company is currently asking how fast they can move with AI. Almost none are asking who’s accountable when it moves too fast and gets something wrong,” Gupta said. “That’s the gap we built AgileAiPro to close.”
The company’s flagship offering combines the AAF framework, detailed in Gupta’s book “Who’s Accountable? The AAF Framework for Governing AI at Work,” with a certification ladder covering foundational AI governance, role-specific tracks for Scrum Masters, sales, and marketing teams, and specialized certification for regulated industries such as healthcare and finance.
Unlike many AI-focused startups built around a single software product, AgileAiPro’s approach centers on a framework and certification model, positioning it closer to established methodology providers than typical AI tool vendors.
Gupta, who spent years in project management and enterprise delivery roles before founding the company, says AgileAiPro’s design principle has remained constant since day one: the framework must work identically for a five-person startup team and a five-hundred-person enterprise delivery organization.
“Accountability shouldn’t scale differently depending on company size,” Gupta said. “That was true when we designed this for software teams, and it turned out to be just as true in real estate, healthcare, and manufacturing, industries we never originally designed for.”
As an India-headquartered company building a framework intended for global adoption, AgileAiPro has been notably direct about wanting the framework’s origin to be part of its credibility rather than something to downplay. “I want people using this in Germany or Singapore to know it was built in India, and trust it more because of that, not less,” Gupta said.
